THE BRIEF

The Manic Street Preachers were launching their new Single ‘Show me the wonder’ and decided to do a live acoustic version for the radio stations to play on-air during their interviews.  The Wave 96.4fm had the first interview and were tasked with the job.

We’ve been working with the ‘The Wave & Swansea Sound’ since 2007 on events such as ‘The Local Hero Awards’ & ‘The Style Awards’ and so they gave us the task of recording the Manics in  Gorseinon College Arts Studio to a handful of people.

The drama studio are Gower College, Gorseinon is the perfect place to record, with it’s large floor space and black drapes to dampen down the reflections.

The Nexo / JBL combination allowed the chosen few (audience) to experience the Manics live but still allow the engineer (Chris) to get a nice recording mix for putting out live on air.

The Manics performed 3 songs ‘Design for Life’, Show Me The Wonder’ & ‘If You Tolerate This, Your Children Will Be Next’
